DIY Homemade Frappuccino

Omgeeee, I have found my new motivator every day.  Seriously, I wake up in the morning, excited to make devour this delicious and fast drink.  If I don’t make it in the morning and am dragging after lunch, I’ll whip it up quick for a tasty shot of caffeine and a nice “mom” break.  (Sorry kiddos, y’all don’t get my caffeine.  I don’t need you bouncing off the walls even more.)

It is super fast and easy to make, which is another reason why it’s one of the highlights of my day.  I can look forward to it, knowing that even on the days that I don’t feel like I can lift another finger to do anything, I can still blend up my drink.

After making some cold brew coffee last week, I had one of these frappuccinos almost every single day.  I finally ran out on Sunday, and have had very sad mornings without my frappuccino.  The cold brew coffee has to sit and “brew” for 12 hours, but after that, you’re set on making your frappuccinos. (And there’s nothing to making cold brew coffee.  Just dump some coffee grounds and water into a pitcher and you’re set.  Seriously.)

So get to work on that cold brew coffee tonight, and in the morning, you’ll be set for a delicious frappuccino!

DIY Homemade Frappuccino + Cold Brew Coffee

Ingredients
  • [i]For the cold brew coffee:[/i]
  • 1/2 cup ground coffee
  • 2 cups water
  • [i]For the frappuccino:[/i]
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup cold brew coffee
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1 1/2 – 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • chocolate syrup for topping, optional
Instructions
  1. [i]For the cold brew coffee:[/i]
  2. Mix the water and coffee grounds together and place in an airtight container with a lid in the fridge for at least 12 hours.
  3. After 12 hours, remove coffee and place fine mesh strainer over pitcher. Place coffee filter in strainer and pour coffee through. Discard the grounds. Store coffee in the fridge for up to 1 week. (Dilute in a 1:2 or 1:3 coffee/water ratio.)
  4. [i]For the frappuccino:[/i]
  5. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until completely mixed and ice is crushed. Pour into 2 small-ish glasses or 1 large glass. Drizzle with chocolate syrup, if desired. (This step is [i]always [/i]necessary in my house.)
Notes
-One batch of cold brew coffee will make about 4 recipes of this frappuccino.
